Overview
Every organization sits on data it doesn't fully use. Employee records, satisfaction surveys, salary history, tenure logs — most of it lives in spreadsheets, gets pulled up once during an annual review, and is forgotten until the next crisis hits. This dashboard is one example of how we turn that kind of scattered information into something a business can actually act on.
A single-page visualization interactive dashboard designed to answer one practical question: why are employees leaving, and where should leadership focus their attention first? Rather than presenting dozens of charts and letting the client sort through them, we identified the handful of factors that actually mattered — overtime, job satisfaction, work-life balance, tenure, and pay — and built a dashboard around those. The result is something a manager can open, understand in under a minute, and use to make a decision the same day.
This is the difference between having data and having insight. Raw numbers don't tell a story on their own; they need to be cleaned, structured, and shaped into something that highlights what's actually driving a business outcome, whether that's attrition, sales performance, or customer churn. That's the service we offer. We take the data our clients already have, however messy or incomplete it may be, and turn it into dashboards that support faster, clearer decision-making — without requiring the client to learn a new tool or dig through endless tabs and formulas.
Our analysis found that overtime was the single strongest factor behind employee attrition, with employees working overtime leaving at more than three times the rate of those who weren't. Work-life balance emerged as another major driver, with employees who rated their balance poorly showing the highest attrition of any group in the dataset. Job satisfaction told a similar story, with dissatisfied employees leaving at nearly double the rate of highly satisfied ones. Tenure also played a clear role: employees in their first two years were significantly more likely to leave than those who had been with the company for a decade or more, suggesting that the early stages of employment carry the greatest retention risk. Compensation had a noticeable but secondary effect, with departing employees earning somewhat less on average than those who stayed. One department stood out as well, accounting for both the highest attrition rate and the largest share of total departures, making it a clear priority for further investigation.
Based on these findings, we recommended a set of targeted actions rather than a broad, one-size-fits-all response. Reducing overtime demands in the highest-risk departments was flagged as the most immediate opportunity, given how strongly it correlated with attrition. We also suggested strengthening onboarding and early check-ins for new hires, since risk was clearly concentrated in the first two years. Improving day-to-day engagement, along with providing better support and facilities to enhance job satisfaction, was recommended to address the work-life balance and satisfaction gaps we identified. Finally, we advised a closer review of compensation for roles showing the highest turnover, along with a deeper look into what was driving attrition specifically within the highest-risk department. Together, these recommendations give leadership a practical starting point rather than a long list of generic advice, focused on the factors the data actually pointed to.
If your business is sitting on data you haven't found the time to make sense of, this is exactly the kind of problem we solve. Get in touch, and we'll show you what your own numbers could look like once they're put to work.
Note: For demonstration purposes, this dashboard is built on a synthetic dataset and does not represent real data.
